Comfort in Every Stitch

A hand-tied fleece blanket may seem simple—but for a child in the hospital, it can mean comfort, warmth, and a reminder that someone cares. Since 2014, our volunteers have come together to create and deliver handmade blankets to children in need.

Made with Love

Every blanket is cut, tied, and assembled by volunteers who bring warmth, laughter, and compassion to each stitch.

Comfort That Lasts

These blankets are more than cozy—they offer emotional support and are theirs to keep even after they leave the hospital.

Locally Delivered

We work closely with the NICU and PICU units at Alberta Children’s Hospital, supporting Airdrie families during difficult times.

A Hug You Can Carry With You

Children in intensive care are often stuck in bed for long periods, surrounded by machines and uncertainty. Our handmade fleece blankets offer softness, warmth, and a connection to home—something personal during a very impersonal experience. Every blanket we donate is given to a child who gets to keep it and take it home after recovery.

Where They Go

We donate blankets to the NICU and PICU at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. These are the highest care units for children across Southern Alberta, serving many families from Airdrie. The program brings comfort to both kids and parents facing tough medical journeys.

The Blanket Making Nights

Our blanket-making events are filled with connection and purpose. Volunteers gather in teams, prepping fabric, assembling, and tying blankets by hand. In just one evening, we create dozens of heartfelt gifts—laughing and sharing as we work.

Built on Teamwork

Blanket nights are more than a craft session—they're a chance to build community. Everyone has a part to play: cutting fabric, prepping stations, and assembling blankets. It's fun, hands-on, and always ends with a sense of fulfillment.
